Crafter's Creed

I, fellow crafter pledge the crafter’s creed
No subbie, subscriber, follower, face- book friend shall supersede
To like videos, leave nice comments
A wonderful craft community to breed
Make funky tutorials, inspiring projects
With good ideas to lead
And never use message boards to stir trouble and mislead
Take credit without giving honor
No never this misdeed
Yes shout outs and video links are always guaranteed
However, auctions, bids and sales
I will beware - take heed
Of haul enablers who want me to buy
Who beg cry and plead
But if I fail and succumb
I vow to share the greed
With freebies and giveaways many craft rooms to feed
Because when I purge and destash only then am I’m freed
From all the stuff that I bought that I don’t really need
And if the hot glue gun causes me to burn and bleed
or I fail to meet swap deadlines as decreed
or need a break from blog hoppin go away and recede
I will lay down my craft and simply concede
Bake cupcakes and cookies
mix and knead
Grab a shovel plant a garden
sow a seed
With Frappuccino coffee and a craft magazine to read
Then organize and clean my craft room
and proceed
To send a card, happy mail,
RAK up a good deed
Shabby chic, altered - distressed
pretty things indeed
Swap for swap tag for tag, card for card
bead to bead
With priority mail and tracking
A super- fast shipping speed
So if I’m seen haulin and stallin
Then please intercede
Call crafters everywhere - a crafters stampede
To get back on track-finish projects -succeed
And to my new friends and followers this I shall reread
Now take the pledge by liking, subscribing or sharing
If agreed

DISTRESSED HEART

THE season of love is upon us and Valentine Day is just 12 days away. While many will be dancing and dining on cloud nine even more will be morning and fasting on planet earth. Why, because of a distressed heart.

Does the thought of Valentine's Day make your heart cringe with stress and anxiety because you have no love? Or perhaps your heart beats tense because you want a new love. Maybe your heart is distressed because you lost a love.

For whatever the reasons of your distressed heart just know when you are distressed God is concered for He cares for you. Jesus told His disciples to let not their hearts be troubled or distressed (John 14:1). In today's time of death, divorce, heart break, and heartache one may wonder if having a distressed free heart is even possible. But if Jesus said it is then it is. So no matter how you may feel on that day, just know that God is thinking about you and the Holy Spirit is praying and making intercession for you (Rom 8:26). So if you have no one to bring you flowers on Valentine's then take a walk in the park with God and pick all your heart desires. If no one brings you chocolate covered hearts then take a bite of God's goodness and taste and see that nothing is as sweet as His love. If no one offers to take you to dinner remember you can take the Lord's Supper and dine with him. If no one sends you a card well God has thought of that too and prepared a greeting for you in His word. And if no one calls you on the phone, remember that God will call you and you will answer His call when you open your eyes to another day of His love, protection and provision (If He be willing).

If you think on the truth that you are blessed - I promise you- your heart won't feel so distressed.

How to make Distressed heart. The Lovestruck cartridge along with cooredination's cardstock was used. I cut out heart 9 and also made a shadow of heart 9 (cut out in black) using the design studio's hide feature (I hid all the inner parts leaving only the outline of heart). I distressed the pink cardstock with a sanding block then rubbed on grey rub on transfer color (EK success) at random throughout the heart creating the distressed look.
